Research Interests:
I am interested in how cells determine their fates, undergo sophisticated cellular behaviors, and ultimately give rise to a multi-cellular organism. My project centers around the cell fate commitment of spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs), which transduce sound information from the cochlea to the brain. I aim to construct the gene regulatory network that specifies SGNs by using contemporary genomic techniques. This work will shed light on stem cell-based therapies for hearing impairment.
